Peter Ruprecht is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker and is currently in charge of Digital Strategy at WDDG, a leading Interactive Media Agency. Before joining WDDG, Peter was Vice President of Interactive and New Media for the global lifestyle and fashion company Marc Ecko Enterprises. In 2004, Peter co-founded Forza Films, a South American documentary production company that has produced work for leading networks. Peter has also had a long-standing career consulting companies of stature, including Merrill Lynch, Price Waterhouse Coopers and Opera Solutions. Born in Argentina, Peter was raised in Vermont and attended Dartmouth College. He was ranked as a top skier in the United States and has traveled the world extensively.
Born in Buenos Aires in 1976 as a descendent of Argentina’s president Manuel Quintana, Peter had a taste for worldly cultures at a young age. An Ivy league graduate from Dartmouth with a degree in Economics, a professional skier ranked in the top 5 of the US blythe age of 18, and a long standing career working at significant companies of stature including Merrill Lynch International Bank, Price Waterhouse Coopers and Blast Radius; Peter’s cultural depth, exotic travels and rich personal and professional character have contributed to his eye for seeking the spirit of the moment.
In 2001 Peter took an extended two-month journey to India where he took some of the first photographs that would later seed his artistic career.
In 2004, amidst his thriving executive career in the Interactive and Management space, Peter returned to Argentina and co-founded Forza Films, a documentary production company that has produced work for the leading networks including Discovery Channel and ESPN. As partner at Forza Films, Peter honed his eye for video and still imagery production which solidified his creative passion into a professional career.
After leaving Argentina in 2006, Peter joined OperaSolutions (a strategic management consulting company) and began traveling the world extensively for business and pleasure carrying a camera and amassing his strongest body of photographic work. While consulting for Opera Solutions, Peter’s photography was becoming an increasing front runner of his professional development culminating in a position he was offered in 2007 by Marc Ecko Enterprises.
Peter left Opera Solutions and joined Marc Ecko and his team where he also served as Vice President of New Media as well as Marc Ecko’s personal photographer.
In 2009 he set off to make photography his sole source of income and entered the world of commercial photography with conviction, shooting for clients such as L’Oreal, Timex, Ecko, Ciroc, Disney, RedBull, CNN an others.
Self taught and recipient of the prestigious Angkor photography award, Peter captures the natural spirit of people and places all across the world. Like many of his subjects, he himself is nomadic, a wanderer amidst the greatest of the world. Through his distinctly honest and deliberate approach, Peter intensifies the relationship between the viewer and subject, achieving immediate emotional and spiritual presence, inviting the viewer to consider the ideas and feelings of the subject, and the eternal soul within all of us.
